SALLY WHALLEY
THERAPY
Time dedicated to you
With all that can be thrown at us, life can ultimately take its toll. I offer a warm, compassionate, non-judgemental approach: a space to offload, find simple coping strategies, gain fresh insight and find balance and peace of mind.
I offer sessions both face to face and on- line.
ABOUT MY APPROACH
As an integrative counsellor, I am able to tailor my skills and knowledge to you and your needs. The core of my work is built around offering a safe and secure relationship, one in which you will feel able to share challenging thoughts, emotions and feelings. I am able to offer you CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) helping you to realise the correlation between your thoughts, emotions and behaviour, TA (Transactional Analysis) helping you with confusing and difficult relationships and aspects of Schema Therapy to help you to resolve more entrenched feelings and patterns from childhood and adolescence.
I am frequently described as calm and warm and these qualities are echoed in the tranquil setting of my counselling room. I enjoy the opportunity of meeting and getting to know each person as an individual and pride myself in quickly developing good relationships.
Some people stay for a few sessions and find that they can make sense of what is happening for them and move forward. Other people stay in counselling with me for longer as they explore more complex events and emotions from both the past and present. However many sessions you have, I will work in the best way for you to help you to achieve the most effective results you need.
ABOUT ME
I qualified in 2006 and have over 15 years of counselling experience. During this time I have worked for charities, in secondary schools, for GP practices and in private practice.
I regularly update my skills and knowledge and have undertaken various qualifications and training including CBT, working with young people, supervision of counsellors and schema therapy.
When I am not working as a counsellor , I supervise fellow counsellors in their work. I am also a qualifications moderator for CPCAB counselling courses.
APPOINTMENTS AND FEES
I offer weekly appointments on Tuesdays to Thursdays, generally from 9am to 5pm, lasting for one hour. In specific circumstances I may be able to offer appointments in the early evening.
I am able to work both face to face and on- line.
I normally suggest we have an initial telephone call to discuss what would be helpful for you. This call would be completely confidential and free of charge. If we felt that sessions would be helpful, then we would arrange to meet, initially on a weekly basis. There is no minimum or maximum limit to the number of sessions you can have. We will monitor the success of the work together as we progress and agree a good time to end.
My fees are
£55 per one hour counselling session,
£75 per one and half hour supervision session.
